Welcome to our Law for Life web pages on wills including how to make a will, or edit an existing one you may already have. If you make a will, you can decide what happens to your property and possessions after your death. Although you do not have to make a will by law, it is the best way to make sure your estate is passed on to family and friends exactly as you wish. If you do not make a will, upon death your assets may be distributed according to the law rather than your wishes.

ENSURE YOUR WISHES ARE CARRIED OUT Make sure that your estate is distributed in the way that YOU want – not by others.

MAKE PROVISION FOR YOUR LOVED ONES You want to make sure that your loved ones are protected and properly provided for.

APPOINT GUARDIANS FOR YOUR CHILDREN You want to make sure that the right people care for and bring up your children.

LEAVE SPECIFIC GIFTS You may want to leave gifts of money or precious items to relatives, family, friends or charities.

AVOID FAMILY DISPUTES You don’t want your spouse or children to end up fighting over your estate…so why not make it easy for them with a will?

CHOOSE YOUR EXECUTORS AND ADMINISTRATORS Make sure that you appoint the right people to look after your affairs after you have passed on. We at Law for Life will happily act as your executors and look after and administer your estate.

AVOID PAYING INHERITANCE TAX We can help make sure you pay either no tax at all to the taxman or at least as little as possible.

ENSURE YOUR FUNERAL WISHES ARE CARRIED OUT Make sure that the type of funeral you want is carried out by stating what you want in your will otherwise you can never be sure that it will happen.

PEACE OF MIND You can gain peace of mind because you know that if anything happens to your, your will and your estate will be easily settled! If you don’t have a will, the Government might take care of your estate.
